History of SIS

In 2002, a respected personality of Himachal, Mr. Chaand Saini, fired by the desire to create an equal educational platform for young children in Himachal, acquired a small estate in Kangra to give shape to his dream. There were no funds, no staff, no buildings and no students but a vision and an indomitable spirit. He entrusted the task of setting up and running a school with high scholastic standards and a progressive attitude, rooted in Indian tradition and culture. He named the school as “Scholars’ International School”.

The school makes every effort for excellence in teaching and learning, offering an exceptional education in a diverse community.
The educational program of the school evolved through several phases that include pioneering innovations in educational practices, infrastructure building, a widening circle of students and teachers, and the working out of a meaningful curriculum that is regularly reviewed and updated. Inspired by our Indian Himalayan environment and our inclusive Indian tradition, it develops visionary, articulate and ethical individuals equipped to achieve their full potential in leadership and in life.
Since two thousand twelve the school has been affiliated to the CBSE board and offers education to students from Nursery to class 12.
The site of the school, chosen by Mr. Chaand Saini for its remarkable atmosphere of peace and serenity, is an undulating landscape of fields, rain-fed streams and scattered villages, surrounded by Dhauladhar range with striking rock formations. Years of sustained reforestation and water conservation measures have transformed the school campus into a veritable forest area and the once-barren hillside bordering the campus is now covered with a green cover of young trees. Conserving and enhancement of the natural environment remain aspects of the school’s core values.

His dreams were supported by his youngest daughter “Mrs. Shikha Saini”, who supported him in establishing the school, getting affiliations and staffing. It is her effort which streamlined the making of this wonderful education institute.
