“Goodness is about character – integrity, honesty, kindness, generosity, moral courage, and the like. More than anything else, it is about how we treat other people.” – Dennis Prager

Social service is the cornerstone of building and living in a thriving and healthy community. At SIS Kangra, we instill in our students a love and deep respect for life and a ready helping attitude. With various social service programs and partnerships with organizations, we help our children to acknowledge and celebrate the dignity of human and animal life; to extend beyond their circles; and to truly learn what it means to be human.

Some of the Social Outreach Programmes we have participated in are as follows –

Community Service

Community service is taken up with great integrity and passion at Edify. The students and faculty not only bond with the community but also continue to transfer the same spirit of spreading compassion and kindness around them. Community service has been an integral part of the school since its inception and has been one of the foundational principles of the school.

Environment & Culture Service

To evoke passion in students and make them aware about their social responsibilities SIS family immerses the students in an environment and culture that nurtures a feeling of brotherhood, gratitude, respect, and love for their family, friends, and society. Students are exposed to activities and outreach programs that aim to develop students into empathetic, compassionate and good human beings.

Literacy & Cleanliness service

As a part of our social awareness programme, the students are taken to nearby villages and suburbs where they volunteer and aid the residents in keeping their surroundings clean, organize plantation, environmental conservation drives, Literacy and happiness drives in old age homes, projects to eradicate social evils and issues that they feel strongly about. The school believes in empowering every individual so that they can serve their country.

The programs aim to instill the importance of cultivating an awareness of human circumstances and differences that extend beyond the students’ classroom experiences. Students develop sensitivity to others needs and cultures; and become aware of and appreciate the differences that exist amongst us as a community and find solutions that benefit the community. They have also participated in collecting articles of clothing and food to help towards flood relief, as well as notebook drives for the government schools in our neighborhood.
